The form generation of the stool started from a strict orthogonal system “rectangular box” into a freer, more fluent system “the blob”; forming a new unity between the human body and the rectangular box, reinventing the familiar into more adaptable, flexible, and diverse. Why an orthogonal box? As a representation of the strict unit based system (upright form) of our surroundings. For example a wall and human body leaning on it and the reshaping of the wall to meets the forces exerted on it. Description: Two barstools that interlock and sit together to create multiple seating of many configurations. The two sculptural barstools are characterized with a complete uninterrupted shape underling the wholly organic nature of these pieces. Tik & Tak stools are two prototypes of a barstools collection; Both stools started from an orthogonal rectangular box its top edge folded back to form a surface on which to sit, where its bottom folded back or front differentiating between sitting and leaning while creating an in-between space of interaction. The Tik & Tak stools was a winner at the Katrina Furniture Project competition by Interior Design magazine, Future Furniture Sector.
